Thesis Statement

Netflix are a company which are independent regulators, this means that regulators or TV and film are unable to take action against Netflix for anything that may be seen as unsuitable or offensive.
Film and TV regulators do not usually have to act on these cases because of the simple reason  that they regulate their own Content.
This suggests the idea that the regulators of TV and Film are ineffective, as Netflix do not need to abide by any other rules and are committed to pleasing their global audiences. Despite the TV and Film regulators having no control over sites like Netflix, they still offer guidance to their viewers by placing an age rating to guide their audience into watching what is best suited for them.
It was found that around 200,000 films have been given a classification where Netflix are using the suitable films ratings. Due to the global audience and accessibility of Netflix, it makes it extremely hard for TV and Film regulators which leads me to the conclusion of this being ineffective.
