Digital Technology consists of
anything that is a device which is digital with accessibility to apps, the
Internet and other programmes or softwares. The use of digital technology
furthers peoples creativeness as there is a very wide range to what we can do
and use with technology. For example, using the Internet will allow us to do as
much research as we wanted to and compile and bricolage all of our research together
to create something new, unique and creative.
During my first year of
college, my knowledge of editing or how to create and use a blog was very
minimal, this meant that my work restricted uniqueness and high quality leading
to my final grade to being lower than desired. However, since working with
programmes like Photoshop and handling cameras/equipment, it has allowed me to
gain more knowledge of technology thus achieving better grades than before.
Since starting to create our
horror film trailer, I am now comfortable with using Final Cut Pro, I’ve learnt
many things like how to insert different transitions like fade to black/colour,
as well as becoming confident with using more complex programmes like After
Effects where I’m comfortable with animating texts for my title slates in our
horror trailer.
By combining all these
different programmes, softwares and technologies, it gives my work a more
professional look as there are many different elements used to produce my final
products.
These skills that I have
developed were all achieved through using and experimenting with digital
technology and the softwares/programmes that are accessible with it. I have
learnt that creativity can be limited to an extent; knowledge of how to use
digital technology will always put at an advantage as you will be experienced
with using different tools and elements. Therefore, digital technology expands
our creative minds to help us become producers of our own content that is high
quality, professional and creative.
